Serve: "Take your everyday, ordinary life and place it before God as an offering." Romans 12:1

At Woodville UMC there are many opportunities to serve others. Through these offerings we can make a difference in people's lives.

  • Needle and Thread Ministries- Providing pillows to heart patients at the Veterans Hospital
  • Caring is Sharing-Providing Emergency Assistance in Tyler County
  • Construction/Recovery Teams- Building wheelchair ramps often in conjunction with the Wodville Rotary Club
  • Angel Tree Ministries- Helping to provide Christmas for Tyler County families in need
  • Big House-Jr. High Youth Missions
  • UM Army-High School Youth Missions
  • The Orchard Ministries-Each month a group of members lead by Margaret Young visits the assisted living center in Woodville, The Orchard. The purpose of this visit is an old-fashioned sing along. Accompanied by Lynette Gainey everyone sings favorite hymns from days gone by.
  • Service Sunday-At WUMC we think it’s important to live our faith both inside and outside the church walls. Serving our neighbors, our communities and those around the world, putting our beliefs into action will create worldwide change and transform the lives of others. Each year WUMC sponsors a Sunday in which the members don’t just go to church they become the church. Members are divided into working groups to complete projects such as wheel chair ramps, minor repairs to homes, preparing food for needy families, sewing and stuffing pillows for the Veterans Hospital, and making fidget quilts for Alzheimer patients.
