NEW MISSON OUTREACH PROJECT BEGINS MARCH 12!

SECOND FRIDAY LUNCH will be launched on March 12 for a three-month trial period. The other dates are April 9 and May 14.

Three teams are in operation to cook, bake and serve a free hot meal to those in need.  The meals will be served between noonand 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  The goal is to offer table hospitality as urged by Jesus and to develop a greater understanding of the needs in our community.

Coordinators are Martha Stark 283-2891 for food preparation and Elizabeth Adkisson 331-9935 for service.  Members of St. Paul's Episcopal Church are joining with us.  If you are interesting in serving on a team, please contact Elizabeth.

CONSTRUCTION/RECOVERY TEAMS

During 2010, WUMC construction/recovery teams will continue with Ike recovery.

We have been called to help restore the United Methodist Church at Sabine Pass.  Currently we are waiting for word from that church that their building has been raised on to piers. Until then we are on hold and do not have firm work dates.

There are experienced people to act as team leaders and there is a mission trailer filled with tools and equipment. People are needed to do both skilled and unskilled labor.  Activities could include clean-up, construction insulating, drywalling, painting, etc.  You may learn new skills.

Teams leave at 7 a.m. on Saturday mornings and return by 6 p.m..  You can pick dates to suit your calendar. Joins the teams as often as it is convenient for you.

Contact:  Elizabeth Adkisson at 331-9935.

NOTICE: The parsonage we worked on is to be dedicated by Bishop Huie on April 11. Team members are invited to travel down for morning worship there.
